Five safe steps to tackling in rugby

I presented a slide show and demonstrations in how to play safe rugby. My mum changed the photos in the slide show and my dad was the ball carrier. I showed the class some of my rugby tackles.

We are answering questions from the class about tackles

Inquiry - "Learning to Learn" - even more presentations

Ollie and I have been studying about how kinesthetic learners learn.

We taught the class how to make stress balls. Kinesthetic learners like the feeling of stress balls as they are doing their work and communicating with each other.

We used balloons and flour. The rubber stretches and the squishiness is great for touching.

More fun with our "Learning to Learn" Inquiry

We continue to present a wide variety of ideas about how people learn.

Here are some more photos.

Latesha and Charlotte worked on questions and ideas to ask  Jackie from the Dyspraxic Support Group who came to tell us ideas about people who are diagnosed with dyspraxia.

Senaya and Ollie are making tactile objects for those people who prefer touching or fiddling with objects while they listen to lessons or their peers work.

Yazeed has been working on his presentation with Noah. They have been interested in how Visual learners learn?

Ethan's stock presentation

I showed the class one of my goals. This goal was to try my hand in investing pretend money. I had ten thousand dollars of imaginary money which I put into four stocks - Air New Zealand, Briscoes, Meridian and Steel and Tube. I showed a spreadsheet with the data and charts to show how the pretend money had been used.

At the end of this Term I will show the results - how much money I have made or lost! At the moment I have made $659.30.

"Learning to Learn" - our Inquiry

Viki and Mckenzie showed the class sign language for the deaf. The class learnt to sign their names.
Viki made a statue showing the sign for peace. She used cellotape to make the hand shape.

Emma and Taylor have learnt about how Visual learners learn. Visual learners like to use bright colours, images, puzzles and rolls of tape!

Ben and Noel have looked how auditory learners think. Auditory learners enjoy discussions with other people and tend to have incredible memories.
